A sculptural like structure that incorporates an emphasis on contrasting interior and exterior spaces, material usage and ornamental detail.
This project began with scanning a porcelain sculpture of an angel as a basis for the overall structure. Through the use of zBrush, this sculpture was then manipulated using existing features of the sculpture, such as the wings of the angel and the ribbons of the dress, as well as basic forms like cuves and spheres to build upon the original angel. These forms created both an interior and exterior structure to create two very different types of spaces within. The ornamental features help to define the upper portions of the structure as well as the entryway. The use of glass, gold and a textured material create a contrasting material experience and highlight different areas of the structure.
